The meeting of the Board of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the international standard-setting body whose members include capital market regulatory authorities from more than 130 countries around the world, was held in Madrid, Spain, on 27–28 October 2025. CMB Chairman, Mr. İbrahim Ömer Gönül, who serves as the Vice Chair of IOSCO’s Growth and Emerging Markets Committee (GEMC) and, in this capacity, as a member of the IOSCO Board, attended the meeting. Throughout the IOSCO Board meeting, various ongoing activities conducted under IOSCO were reviewed, and decisions were taken regarding the organization’s future work programme.

During the meeting, discussions were held on IOSCO’s 2026 budget and work plan, proposals regarding IOSCO’s organizational structure, the Risk Outlook and Market Fragmentation Report, the Consultation Report on Secondary Market Disclosure Principles, and recommendations concerning sustainability-related disclosures in secondary markets. In addition, participants exchanged views on ongoing initiatives in the areas of financial technologies, pre-hedging practices in intermediation, valuations in portfolio management, private equity investments in accounting firms, as well as recent developments in global financial markets.
