COMCEC 6th Capital Market Regulators Forum meeting is held in Istanbul
For the members of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) "COMCEC 6th Capital Market Regulators Forum" meeting is held in Istanbul, Le Meridien Hotel, Etiler on 31 October 2017. The event is hosted by the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (CMB) as the Secretariat of the Forum. Albania, Iran, Kuwait, Jordan, United Arab Emirates and Turkey capital market authority delegates have joined the Forum meeting. Besides, Statistical Economic Social Research Training Centre (SESRIC OIC) has participated the event.
COMCEC Capital Market Regulators Forum was established in 2011 by the COMCEC Member State Regulatory Authorities Conference and Roundtable in line with the calls of 25th and 26th COMCEC meetings. Since its establishment, the Forum Secretariat and the Chairmanship is executed by the Capital Markets Board of Turkey. COMCEC Capital Market Regulators Forum aims to offer a cooperation platform for COMCEC capital market regulatory bodies of OIC countries on capacity building, market development, Islamic Finance and financial literacy topics.
Following the opening speeches of the CMB Executive Vice Chairman Bora ORUÇ and the General Director COMCEC Coordination Office Selçuk KOÇ, Forum's "Market Develeopment", and "Finacial Literacy" Task Forces have elaborated their 2017 work regarding capital market infrastructure and a review on financial literacy activities in OIC countries.
Forum participants evaluated the 2018 work plan and according to the Agenda item has also renewed the Chairmanship of COMCEC Capital Market Regulators Forum as Capital Markets Board of Turkey.
