A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (CMB) and The Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA).
The MoU, which has been signed by Chairman Ali Fuat Taşkesenlioğlu on behalf of the CMB and Acting CEO Mukhtar Bubeyev on behalf of the AFSA in CMB Istanbul Office, aims to foster the exchange of information and technical cooperation between the authorities of the two countries. With this MoU, a framework cooperation including facilitating cross-border supervision, consulting on relevant information on financial services legislation and sharing expertise have been established and it has been considered as an important step to enhance mutual dialogue.
In his speech at the signing ceremony, CMB Chairman Ali Fuat Taşkesenlioğlu stated that CMB Turkey attaches great importance to international relations and increases its efforts of cooperation with other countries. He noted that, collaboration with AFSA is particularly crucial considering the historical ties and common interests between the two jurisdictions and expressed that CMB is very pleased to establish a cooperation mechanism with AFSA by signing this MoU. He further added that this is the 36th MoU aiming to enhance cooperation with counterparts and that these efforts will continue with an increasing trend.
During the ceremony Mr. Bubeyev expressed that they are very pleased to strengthen their partnership with the CMB by signing the Memorandum of Understanding. This MoU is an important step in formalizing their relationship to further promote cross-border activities between our jurisdictions. They are keen to facilitate activities of financial firms of Turkey in the AIFC".
